Glass was shattered on the floor and remainder of the cup was in my hands. In front of me stood Iowa and behind me was Akihiko.
'Why didn't you stop them from coming in?'
'It would have been me against…'
'Why didn't you ask them to come back in the morning? Why did you just let them in…' They were getting annoyed with each other. I was getting annoyed with them.
'Iowa!' The air in the room froze. 'Why didn't you fight that first time? Why did you shoot me in the shoulder.' Akihiko pointed to his arm. 'Why did you want to leave me behind? Why did you let them in!?'
The sound of a gun being pulled from a pocket and then a sword leaving its masters hands.
I turned and saw Akihiko laying on the floor.
A bullet in his leg.
Then I felt strong hands pull me back. Iowa.
'Stay down Akihiko.' I could see the gun next to me, it was pointing at the wounded boy.
I watched as he tried to get up but ended on the floor. 'You're not doing anyone a favour by trying to stand Akihiko. Stay Down.'
My eyes were starting to water and I could feel my own legs about to give way.
I trusted him.
We didn't talk, there was no noise while the carriage moved down the road. The memory of Akihiko bleeding on the floor haunted me and Iowa notably didn't care.
He wasn't staring at me but I could tell that he was watching. My hands were bound with rope so I couldn't fight and my mouth was taped over so no one would hear me scream.
I didn't try and I didn't fidget. This made the soldiers in the carriage with us very nervous. I could see it on their faces and that mean the man I was marrying was their employer.
'Iowa… are you sure its…'
'Are you sure its okay to have her tied up like this?'
I could sense all their eyes on me and immediately knew what they meant. They were scared that I would make their lives hell.
'When we arrive at our destination and after she is married I will be her guard, my duties start now and I think this is the best for her.'
My eyes widened. I started glaring at the boy in front of me, this evidently made everyone else but him uncomfortable.
'Sit back Mi.' His voice was like quicksand, dragging me down until there was no where else to go. 'You will be married soon.'
